On Discover, these media companies create content to live specifically within Snapchat. Rose Dommu, a staffer for LGBTQ magazine Out, wrote that the filter “ makes a joke out of transitioning.” For Dommu, “this filter is literally an instant transition, and the humorous way I’m seeing it shared is…not cute.” Snapchat is working with a handful of media companies on a relatively new program called Discover (Disclosure: BuzzFeed is a partner).
